Oregon Safe Routes to School Program Evaluation

Oregon Safe Routes to School Annual Report

The Annual Reports look at the state of Safe Routes to School (SRTS) in Oregon. Though the Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT) is a Network partner, the views expressed by the Leadership Committee may not reflect the views of ODOT.

CONTINUING TO GROW AND EXPAND: ODOT SRTS STRATEGIC NEEDS ASSESSMENT

The ODOT SRTS Program gathered feedback from program partners and school community members throughout 2021. The team used this feedback to hone the program’s vision, brainstorm new strategies, and create work plans.

The draft Strategic Needs Assessment directs the ODOT SRTS team’s work over a period of five years (2021-2026), with the goal to implement a comprehensive program throughout the state.

Case Studies

This Case Study Evaluation measures the impacts of Oregon SRTS Competitive Construction Grants in communities across the state. The evaluation assesses the effectiveness of individual SRTS projects and programs designed to reduce barriers to walking and rolling. Each Case Study Evaluation will include a Baseline Data Evaluation Report and an After Study Report. The After Study Reports are underway as construction projects are completed.

  • The Baseline Data Evaluation Report represents the “pre-construction” data and provides an overview of existing travel conditions and school site attributes. Existing reports are linked to below.
  • The After Studies Report will represent the “post-construction” data.
