Notes from the field:
In September 2019, I was excited to walk on the first new sidewalk built with Oregon SRTS Infrastructure funds and local contributions in La Grande, Oregon. The project is not officially completed (meaning all the papers have been shuffled) however it is in use by the students at Central Elementary School, and I even saw some young ones skateboarding and scootering (with helmets of course!) on the sidewalk the evening that I was there. Thank you to everyone who helped build Oregon’s Safe Routes to School Program. We are starting to see the results!
