June 20th was the Burns Paiute Health Fair in Burns Oregon. The fair covered a wide range of health and wellness opportunities including bike safety and Safe Routes to School resources for children in the area. Commute Option’s Kim Curley attended on behalf of the Oregon Safe Routes to School team armed with bike safety resources, games, incentives and helmets to fit kids who needed them.
Kim fit 10 kids with helmets to take home and taught them about hand signals while biking, and spoke with community members and leaders about the challenges of biking in the area.
